Jegs Y-Pipe Question
This: http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS-Performan...oductId=758633 says its for 94-99, but is there any reason it wouldnt work on a 2001. I have seen other exhaust stuff that says 94-01.

I think that's because the 2000 and 01's have a different pipe size. I suppose it would work if you are replacing the whole exhaust. I'm sure someone that has used one will chime in. This may help with the pipe sizes. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...ram-1500s.html

From what ive read on the subject in 2000 the ram gained 15 hp over the previous years, with the only change being the exhaust y-pipe, before the y on the 99 ram the pipe was 2.25", on the 01's its 2.5".
after the y on the 99 is 2.5", on the 01's I think it was 3".
The jegs y-pipe has 2" pipe before the y and 3" pipe after, also theres no cat and less restricted/ free flowing.
Its been a while since ive finished my exhaust system so the pipe sizes might vary slightly!

Personally, I'd replace just the cat(universal) with one of the right size. If your Y is fine and not rotted, it is a cheaper and more environment friendly.

It will have no effect on the precat O2 sensor since it is...well...precat. Thus no driveability issues. Only if the precat O2 sensor is taken off or not working properly you will have issues.
