Default flowmaster vs magnaflow vs no muffler

Hi, I am currently running my dodge ram 5.2 with no muffler and love the sound, however I want a deeper tone to it. I noticed that both flowmaster and manaflow sell mufflerlers that bolt to the single pipe and have dual out pipes. Would the truck with no muffler still be louder than a magaflow or flowmaster with dual outs? Also, would the magnaflow deepen the tome of the engine?

A muffler will give it a nice tone but I prefer no muffler. But I also have my stock cat if I had a muffler I would cut off the cat with any muffler and it will probly be exactly what your looking for. It'll be deeper and louder(not as loud as no muffler) and, u'll supposedly get more power and mpgs

haha, I agree with zman...

Mufflers "muffle" your exhaust tone/loudness. Installing one would muffle the sound (make it quieter). You can install a flowmaster 50, 70, etc series muffler for a deeper tone but it will be much quieter.

Mufflers don't bolt on (unless you want to weld flanges to your pipes for some odd reason)...you can either clamp it on or weld it.

"Upgrading" to larger exhaust pipes will give it a deeper tone (3" inches is usually as much as you should go)...Adding a tip, putting turn downs/dumping the exhaust pipes, removing the cat can also change the tone.

if ur really wanting to put a muffler on, and u like the sound of no muffler, then your gonna want to go with a single chamber muffler, flowmasters are 2 chambers which will give you alot of the deep rumble tone back. but if i was you, id look into a cherry bomb extreme muffler. they are likes 50 bucks. i have one i might sell ya for like 25. let me know in a private message. u can hear what it sounds like on youtube.

i got a cherry bomb cat back kit for around 300.00.it came with a 3 inch inlet and two 2 1/4 outlet muffler. the pipes were mandrel bent and came with 3 inch tips. sounded good on my 94 1500. my 01 i kept the stock 3 inch and put in a series 40 flowmaster. sounds good a little tamer than the cherry bomb kit
