Gutted cat question

Default Gutted cat question

Got my cat gutted couple days ago and when ever I get it up to 40-50 the truck will start to vibrate just wondering if its normal and will it hurt the truck

The whole truck vibrates? I don't think a missing or gutted cat is going to cause that. Speed related vibes is likely suspension or wheel related I'd guess.

I doubt that it has anything to do with the cat, Start checking for something loose. I would check all the u-joints etc......

Just a reminder that whether or not your state has emissions testing, gutting your cat is a federal offense and pollutes the air we all have to breathe. Cats remove ozone (O3) and carbon monoxide (CO) from engine exhaust; I encourage you to replace yours.

I agree with the wheel/suspension idea. Check all lug nuts make sure they are nice and tight. Then move on to the suspension and start checkin

How do you "gut a cat"?

I do not know if that would be a good idea.

You can cut it open and knock all the internals out then weld back shut. remove it in general and ive even seen someone burn the stuff out.. Last one doesnt seem like to good of an idea but he thought it was. Can also knock it out with it still installed on the vehicle
