VWandDodge tragedy!
I never have said anything regarding this tragedy, but I always wanted to. When the initial donation offer came up, I tried to donate, but paypal wouldn't accept my debit card, no matter how many times I tried. When the funeral date was announced, I wanted to come out and attend, but wouldn't you know it, my truck broke. I want to let you know VW that I have tried to remember you in my prayers over the last several months, and although I am new around here, I would do anything I could to help you (or anybody) out if the opportunity presented itself. I will keep praying for you, and like everyone else has said, if you want/need some company or a wrench buddy or something, I am just a stones throw (with a really strong arm) away in Shreveport.
The headstone was finally delivered and set yesterday. We initially thought it would have been ready before Memorial Day but there was miscommunication on that. Then, we weren't apprised of a delay due to an accident with a granite shipment. Two weeks ago, my ex-wife (Jennifer) somehow got in touch with the head honcho who said he would personally pick up the headstone if it came down to it. The only minor issue is the vase stand is supposed to be smooth material and not that rippled material. The cemetery will replace that and reset the headstone.
True story -- Gabriel's friends will do burnouts on the road next to his plot. The cemetery didn't know what was going on until Jennifer said something. Believe it or not, but the cemetery is cool with it. I'll get some pics of the road decorations next time I make it out that way.

the burnout thing: second coolest thing I've ever read here...
the response from management: the coolest...
If I ever find myself near Norman, expect there to be 12.5" marks added to that collection..
I've got much respect for them for doing such a thing, and carrying it on..

Very nice VW. I think the burnout thing is becoming popular. I pass a memorial on the side of the road everyday where a couple kids passed away. And the road is black from all the friends doing burnouts .
