Default 47RE trans question

hi im rebuilding a 47RE for a 96 2500. for some reason the input shaft has side play in it. im guessing this isnt normal. i cant seem to find whats causing it. Does anyone have any ideas.

What stage of this are you in? Can you post pictures? Did you download service manual? It has a good section on trans rebuild. I printed it and put in plastic sheet protectors and kept it on bench during my rebuild.

If you have the oil pump bolted back in, did you change the front bushing?

im loading all the components into the case. i did bolt the seal pump but without the o ring so i could easily remove it if i had to. i didnt change the bushing but i believe i got one with the bushing kit and will try that. it dosent look that bad. i can try to get pics any specific area? and i did get a service manual.

changed the bushing tonight, nothing different. any other ideas?
