It could be that your 2001 5.9 is NOT a 2001 5.9 ram. your injectors should be the plastic body bright red EV6's with EV6 connectors that never rusts like that.In the video your showing us rusted out injectors that just dont match up with a 2001 5.9.Other then that dont know why the 14X3 will not fit it.

Yeah, those spacers tend to suck. I have a 14 x 3 on my International 392's and I go through those things like crazy. I even thought of manufacturing and selling proper ones machined from aluminum.

Nothing magic about your problem; you've just gotta bite the bullet and study exactly what's going on with how the spacer fits onto your TB, and how the filter housing sits on the spacer. If it's the wrong fit, Edelbrock sells a spacer that might fit better.

I fixed it, I used the 1" spacer instead of the 1/2" , and mine is an 01 ram with the 5.9L because i talked to the guy at the dealer a week ago and had him check the vin

Okay i figured it out. the 1/2" spacer was not tall enough so it didnt fit flush, i managed to get the 1" in there and now its perfect, and wow, what a difference it makes.

Thanks, the 14x3 was from my dads old 73' prix, so i lucked out.

Your going to hear some negatives about it but in my opinion its awesome, i noticed a difference when i hit it. and so did my friend. People say yeah when sit at a light then hit it, your going to get a shot of hot air but there's more then enough room in the engine compartment. And btw how did the old carberated engines do with it? they had the same setup so they must have been sucking in hot air?

I have ran:
1. Stock box with paper filter
2. Stock box with K&N filter
3. Mopar performance with paper filter (below)
4. Edelbrock Pro Flo foam element (triangular looking one) for 25 bucks.

#4 gave me the best performance and MPG gain, but it lets A LOT of dirt through that cheapie foam filter.

#2 was not as good as #4, but it worked better than anything else. I run the stock box with a K&N, but I recommend a spectre filter because they are cheaper and appear to be better at keeping dirt out.
