Lift question
From what I've read throughout these forums it seems you can lift a '01 Ram 4x2 about 3" before you have to start replacing parts, controls arms, etc...
My question is my truck stock sat on 16" wheels running 245/75/16 it now has 17" wheels running 265/70/17, not a real dramatic increase IMO, but does the increase in wheel and tire size effect how much one can lift before having to replace some suspension components?
Thanks

no, tires size does not affect anything with your suspension. all tire size affect is ride hight. ie. you go to a 2 inch smaller tire and your truck sits 2 inches lower, and if you go to a 2 inch larger tire then your truck sits 2 inches higher. all a lift does is make it to where you can go to tires to large for a stock suspension
edit: i just read that you are a 4x2. i dont know if they make anything larger than a 3 inch for our 4x2's, and i very rarely see anything more than a 5 inch for any make of 4x2. anything is larger then that is going to be custom fabricated
