does engine rpm bounce around when coming to a stop?
Exactly lol !

The engine rpm is constant , and it does it in neutral, drive, and reverse.. so it isn't the transmission if its in neutral...

I spun the front wheels freely , and I can hear a solid brake pad on the passenger side , but I get a 70/30 pad contact on the drivers side when I free spin it.. I think I might have my surging problem narrowed down.

other then that the truck has 230k on it and runs great ! not a spot of rust and it runs solid as the day it was bought ! (with 96k on the clock)

I figure putting $400 a month into it for a few months of replacing parts is still cheaper than a new truck by thousands !
