Default 96 Ram 1500 4x4 Idle Fluctuates

Well my 96 Ram 1500 doesn't seem to idle steadily, it fluctuates. How would I fix this?

Oh, where is the TPS located? How much would it cost to replace it?

Go to the FAQ/DIY section and download service manual. Everything you need to know to test the TPS and IAC is laid out.

It is a sticky on page 2 of the FAQ/DIY: Here is a link - 2nd Generation Dodge Ram Service Manuals

Hope this helps. I use it routinely. There is also a parts manual. 2nd Generation Dodge Ram Parts Manuals

tps is on drivers side of throttle body.
iac is on the back side.

i never had much luck testing them.
for about $40 each, just replace them as needed.
on the iac, make sure the hole at the end of the well is open, not clogged with gunk. you can spray it out with carb cleaner or brake cleaner.

Not with the stock cam. Should be smooth and steady.

idle should be smooth, provided IAC is not moving around and the evap system is not cycling or running its tests or dumping evap fumes. mine seems to idle a bit rough at random times for a moment and then it straightens itself back out.

did you check/replace your dist cap and rotor?
try some Chevron Techron Fuel Cleaner.
