looking for a license plate wiring harness. i thought it was easy peasy call up the dealership and BAM! but alas its not the correct harness. the new one is mopar part number 5179988ab and is on the left below. the one that i pulled that was melted is on the right.

any other ideas as to a part number?

 

I'm thinking a couple of butt splices? Those look similar enough that they may be from different year models.

 

well, it seems that there is in fact another harness out there. guess i'll find out tomorrow when they get here! i'll post a part number for future reference

Fortunately, the tags with the part #'s last longer than parts. Maybe they should contract the people making the tags to make some of the parts that melt, rust, wear, etc.
