I bought a 2000 Ram 2500 Sport, fully loaded with every option. The problem is that the owner only had two keys, but no key fob for the keyless entry. Do I need to take it to a dealer to get new fobs and to reprogram the keyless system? Anybody know how much that'll cost me?

 

Its my understanding that the dealer has to program the first key fob, but, you can do subsequent ones yourself. There was another thread on this, but, that was several months ago....... You can grab the 01 service manual from the faq section as well.

 

Ok, thanks for the info. Guess they get more of my money, but its worth every penny. I love this truck.

 

i belive the code is behind the back seat? at least thats how it was on my bddys ford
