37's and a body lift
I will be installing a 3" body lift so that i can fit some 37's, and i am wondering what other modifications i should make to the axles, trans, engine? im not planning on doing anything serious offroad, maybe a beach trip here and there, so dont need anything crazy. anyone have any ideas?
Axles for sure if you are putting 37's on, or you will murder your trans in short order. Will 37's even fit with only a 3" lift? I have a 3" and i wouldnt dare put on more than 35's, but thats just me.
Edit: 4.56 gears are probably what you will need for tires that size.

im running 35's right now with just the factory off-road pkg lift. so 37's should fit no problem.
what do you think i should do to the trans? larger cooler? rebuild? upgrade?
98% of my driving is just intown going to work, with an occasional beach trip.

not planning on towing either, maybe a small trailer if i move or something. besides i think the off-road pkg came with a aux trans cooler.

As I understand it, when you match your gears to your tire size you are returning your driveshaft revolutions back or at least close to stock.
Maybe someone with a bit more knowledge on this can chime in?
You've got 4.10's with the offroad package which be ok at best but 4.88's would be best. I agree with a 3" body being a little small for those tires. As far as engine goes anything to get more power to turn those tires cause they're alot heavier than 35's.
thats the way i have always understood it too.
