As long as you did not turn the cam or crank by itself, it should run.

the cam and crank were turned by themselves. thats half the problem i had. but i took the heads off went i bent the valves TDC the #1 piston. put the cam gear on rotated the cam to 6 oclock. set the crank at 12. sliped the chain on and called it a day. it better be right because i set it according to the haynes manual

Did you make sure the cam is on the correct location? If #1 piston is at tdc both valves for #1 should be closed because that's the compression stroke right?

You have to make sure the correct valve is open on #1. (Like in all the info you got in the other thread) You can't just turn the cam to 6 oclock position and call it a day.

got the truck running had a few little problems with it (dodges half *** design on the water pump) but other then that it runs good. but now my brake light abs and engine light are on. im not sure why everything works fine. and shes running alittle hotter then usual (round 190) but im gonna save up and get the sct tune for it.
