Default Mopar Combustion Chamber Cleaner

I was reading the TSB for repairing the plenum, and at the end it instructs the technician to use Mopar Combustion Chamber Cleaner.

What do you guys think about this?

As a general rule I am opposed to buying fixes in a bottle and am also opposed to spraying things into my engine, so I'm skeptical.

well the cleaner would fix your leak... they probly put it in after they fix the plenum leak to help clean out the carbon and such from when it was leaking oil

the only true way to fix you plenum leaking is to repair the gasket and belly pan with a alum pan

It is a really good cleaner. I've used it for many applications on my engine. I recommend using it as described in the TSB.

Of course, the MCCC is to be used after the repair to remove carbon build-up from burning oil through the plenum leak.

Green,

Just pass the whole bottle through the vac line that goes from the brake booster into the intake. The RPMs will drop as you do this if you put too much in at one time.

Weird thing, when i do this to my wife's 2007 YUKON with the 5.3, the RPMs SKYROCKET enough for you to soil yourself. I think it is the PCM in the yukon due to the flex fuel tune. Seems when the engine boggs, it opens up the throttle automatically.

An old windex bottle with water will clear out carbon also. Cheaper too.
