Default 1998 dodge ram 1500 5.9 4x4 laramie

im currently running i lt285/75r16s on my truck, they rub at max turn as is, and i would really like to go to probably 315s or 325s what would be some suggestions for the cheapest way to be able to fit some bigger tires on this bad boy, ive considered spacing out the tires, but my intentions are mudding so im not too sure on how safe that is, if i was to set my max turn lower, how much would i prevent me from turning?

No one can help you if they don't have all the pertinent info about your truck. What lift is in it, what rims are on it, what gears are in it and so on.

A 315/75r16 tire will not fit on a stock rim so new rims are in order. Going to that big of a tire means you should re-gear your truck, and you should have a 5" lift on the truck so things will have clearance.

I just saw a post with a 5" lift for under $1000 at topgun http://www.topguncustomz.com/Store/G...view=251828510
add another $1000-$2000 for gears and install
add another $1000 for tires and rims

There are lot's of threads on lifts, how to lift and " I wanna".

more offset wheels is the only way to go. get 8" wide wheels with 4"-4.5 backspacing, depending on what you like and what width you go with.

315's will fit on stock wheels but you're gonna rub the control arms.

A 315/75r16 tire needs a 8" wide rim, stock rims are 7". While they might physically fit on the 7" rim it is not the right way to do things. If you think I am wrong go check out some tire fitments charts. Specifications are there for a reason.

I'm not saying it doesn't need a 8" wheel but it will fit and function fine. There are tons of people doing it. Doesn't make it correct, I'm just saying it will work if you can't afford tires and wheels at the same time.

On another note the only 325's ive ever seen were 325 80 16 which most certainly wont fit.

Cheapest lift I would have to guess is what came on my truck when I bought it. 3"coil spacer. I believe it has one 6" block for the rear cause stacking blocks is bad and a 3" body lift. Check ebay for prices I definatley don't think this would cost you over $1000.
