Default How do I replace the electric door lock motor?

Well one my 96 Dodge Ram 1500 the electric door lock on the drivers side doesn't always work - it seems to work after not being used (even then it moves really slow), but after you lock/unlock it once it won't work again till you let it sit. I got the door panel off, and have located the motor, but I can't figure out how to get it off - its in a hard place to get at. Any suggestions? Also, where would I be able to buy a new motor?

Oh, the ones that look like they are holding the latch on the side of the door?

Yeah, I think the power lock solenoids are actually a part of the latch mechanism on our trucks.....

You do know most parts stores have websites now right? Try Rock Auto, and look in the 2nd Gen general discussion forum for the discount code thread I posted. However, I believe the part you want is JY or dealer only.

And add all the info about your truck to your sig and profile please.

I had to get mine at the dealership as none of the parts stores around me had it. It was $110 or something like that.
