i found a random wiring harness under the hood thats not connected
I was following wires for the vacuum lines yesterday to try and figure out why I was having all the problems with my heat and all and i noticed what looks like a wiring harness off of the vacuum lines. The harness plugs into the vacuum lines then goes over the passenger side fender and then has a connector thats not plugged into anything. I will try to upload a pic here in a second. Didnt no if the po unplugged something or what. It seems odd to me like something should be plugged in there. thanks
on to my other problems I found an orange wire that just seems odd it has like wax or something on the end of it. It was under the weather stripping for the hood. Does this seem rite or out of place? [IMG]

seems odd to me.
and here was the other one. Inside the truck under the dash on the drivers side I have wire that then has a loop on the end and goes back into the connector and you can see a hole in the firewall so I was wondering if I am missing something there? Here is the pic of that. I know its alot of stuff put after looking for wires to see what was going on and finding these 3 things I was like wtf is going on here. [IMG]

I have several as well. There are two of them under the radiator. I think they are for fog lights or something, and there are several under the hood in the engine bay and then under the dash. I think most of them are because Dodge standardized the wiring harness for the sake of costs, and these are for options that did not come with the truck. I'll have to see if the one that is located like yours has anything attached to it. Driver's side, right?
All I could look at was how rusted up your shock nut/bolt are!!! LOL
The orange wire...has been posted about here previously. No one seemed to be able to identify it.
Certainly your very first picture with the gray connector looks like it needs a home relative to the other findings.
Did you get a build sheet yet? I ask b/c then you can possibly cross reference the options on your truck, which is what gdstock is most likely right about.

Yeah. Build sheet is good. I spent hours trying to hook the two connectors to my radiator before I gave up.....lol. (actually, mine did not come with fogs, so I looked under a buddy's Ram with fogs. Sure enough, that's what they go to.
I just looked, and I have the orange one also. Comes out of the convolute wrap by the trans dip stick. I do not have the one you show in phot (by rusty shock stud). where does the cable go to? The PDC?

The plug in your first pic looks like the one to the purge solenoid on the pass inner fender. Is your purge solenoid still there and hooked up, should have vacuum lines attached to it. Couldn't see the color of the wires in the pic but purge solenoid are usually blue/yellow and red.
EDIT: I may have just stated something you already knew. Ill take a look and see where it goes.
