Default Neutral safety switch or pigtail

Ok so i bought a new neutral safety switch for my truck, put it in wont start in park or neutral tried cleaning connections and threads all that good stuff, still nothing, so i put the old one back in it will start in neutral like it did before, now im told it might be the pigtail is bad...but i dont think so becuase the old switch still works...any siggestions?

black wire with white trace should be for starter circuit. Try just grounding that wire, and see if the starter will operate. If that works, still got a switch problem. Might be out of adjustment?
