make sure you get the one for 275 that has the canned tunes. Hemifever makes the tunes for a 180* thermostat, so you will need to replace that. You will spend more in new antifreeze than you will for the thermostat. Wal-Mart has an antifreeze sale and there is a 15 dollar rebate if you buy two gallons.

I would get the hughes plenum kit and the SCT from hemifever. Less than 500 bucks and you will be SET for a while. Then you can do 1.7 roller rockers and a fastman throttle body. THEN get headers (And get good ones, Like JBAs)

Go to www.hemifevertuning.com and select model and year. "Canned" tunes are three basic tunes for stock truck. I think cost is like $245. Custom tunes after that can be e-mailed to you to load if you make significant mods to your truck at a later date. You will be happy with the difference.

I was runnin a stock truck a few months ago and did the Airgap Intake, 1.7 valve lifters, SCT, all good mods, but the most noticeable HP/TQ gains was from cutting out the factory muffler for a 3" high-flow. Cheap and best bang for the buck. Next I'm cutting out my restrictive Y-pipe, already bout a magnaflow Y, but it dosen't fit in the tight space, so I'm thinking of going with this

the muffler mod only made the biggest difference because it was the last piece of the puzzle to complete all the mods improving air and fuel flow thru the engine... if you had done that first it wouldnt have had as big of an effect....more air in as well as more air out is the key...
I have a 3" exhaust and headers and my performance isnt anything special because I'm restricting airflow in at the stock TB and heads...

No, it's just a factory 2" to 2.5 in/out replacement but it doesn't have the restriction in the y section. I want to replace my cat too, so think this what I will buy.

Only had airgap installed when I did the muffler mod. Still had death flash too. My truck has 164k miles, so it may have just needed a change anyway. If I were to start over though I'd still start there. I gained 1mpg too.

How do you figure that it's not restrictive? If you look close enough, it won't do you any good because of all the crimps in the bend. You'd need a Jegs y pipe because it has mandrel bends and flows smoother. Hence no restriction.

You right, I didn't notice that the bends are really crimped. The Jegs off-road Y says it only fits to '99. Don't think it'll fit my '01 will it? If it fits I'll go for it, otherwise maybe I'll have my local shop fabricate something up.

Do the 99s have the exhaust run on the driver side? The Jegs Y makes it look that way, mine is run on the passenger side.
