I am going to buy one if not 2 of 3 trucks this week I need to know some pros and cons of them .
1 2001 ext cab 2500 V10 needs tranz work { acts up when hot }115k miles 4500 price
2 2000 ext cab 1500 360 3 inch lift 140k miles 4k price
3 2000 ext cab not sure of the engine has the ram hood and running boards 95k miles 5k price

both black trucks { first 2} have some rust doors rockers normal things not a concern for me. the 3rd the blew one has no rust

i want the V10 its clean and seems like a truck that is differnt i dont see many of them , can i get some pros and cons of them , i had a 98 and loved it but had to sell it , ended up with a 02 4.7 and hated it , thanks for any imput

 

From what I read on this forum about the V10's I have learned that they are hard to find parts for and are quite expensive to fix if things go wrong.

Is the lift kit on #2 a suspension lift or a body lift? What size tires are on it? Did the owner re-gear it if he changed the tire size?

What will you be using the truck for? Do you need a lift kit? Or a V10?

Is the blue one a 1500 with the 360? Or a 318?

No matter what you pick, make sure you take it for a really good test drive, not just around the block. Get the truck up to operating temp. If you have a mechanic for a buddy, take him/her with you when you look at the trucks.

4500 for a truck that already needs trans work? Too much.

 

the trucks will be used for work and fun , the v10 truck just seems like a neat truck to have all trucks are pretty clean for the age. iam not 100% sure of any of them since i have not seen them in person yet . mechanics i can look at myself needing tranz work is not a big deal 1500 bucks at most for me to have a tranz rebuilt and put in if its not something i can do my self. i know what the 318 gets for gas mileage but whats the v10 to the 360 get ? is the power differnce worth it { i like power } if i need to put money into a play toy is it worth building the v10 truck over a 360 truck ?

 

Hans_GZP and VEETEN are members on here that have V10's and maybe if you ask them for thier opinions they can help you better understand how that truck should perform.

Like HeyYou said, $4500 might be too much for that truck in your area. Just because you can get a trans for cheap doesnt mean you should overspend on the truck. Right? Save some money for other things!

 

well does anyone here have a truck for sale 00 or 01 black or blue thats compairs in price ? iam just thinking at 4500 and 1500 more the tranz has a warranty vrs spending 5k plus and not knowing when the tranz will go . 95k to 115k miles seems good for these prices also . but thats why iam asking
