Default Emergency brake stuck on

Today I let my son drive my 1998 2500 ram diesel 20' down the driveway. When he parked it, he slammed down on the emergency brake and now when I press down on the brake to release it, it goes all the way to the floor and I can't it released.

Any suggestiongs on what I can do to get the brake to release?

Thanks

my 99 has a handle to the left of the handle which opens the hood. It's painted to match the interior colors.

Boy, am I embarrased now. It is too obvious that I am driving my wife's Pontiac Montana too much. It is that vehicle that releases the brake by pressing the pedal. The brake release on the Ram is exactly where you said it way. And it works when you pull it out.

DUHHHHH!!!!!!!

I just drive it from April through October and then put her to bed for the winter. I bought a beater Chevy Tracker for my daily driver and the Ram stays in the heated garage except once a month when I start her up.

Thanks guy for your help and not beating me up too much :-)
