1999 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 5.2L Need a bit o'fixin -Thoughts?
Hey everyone here is an update on the ole beast. I just spent the last two days doing as much as i could for the money i had avaliable. I replaced both front u-joints, the rear transmission seal and transfer case seal, as well as doing the spark plug antifowler trick. When i was doing the u-joints i found out that both my upper and lower ball joints were bad on my drivers side, so after making another run into town i got those parts and my truck all put back together for now so it is driveable for the time being.
As for what i want my truck to do for a performance upgrade with cam etc. I do quite a bit of hunting/off roading, but i also put on a lot of highway(gravel) miles, so i dont want to loose out on that when upgrading ... let me know what you think.
Another thing i was wondering HeyYou had said in a previous post that i might have a problem with my t-case overfilling..could there be another issue other than my seals being bad that could cause that?? I have only had it back on the road for a day so i will be watching my fluid levels etc closely from here on out until i know there are no other issues, if anyone has any input it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Allpar7
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone as well!!!

The t-case can get over-full when the seal between it, and the trans fail. Since you replaced them both, that shouldn't be an issue. Monitor fluid level for a bit, and if everything stays where it should, stop worrying about it.
Since you do trails and such with your truck, you wanna stick with an "RV" cam. Something that will give you GOBS of low end grunt, without sacrificing too much up top. A good tune would do wonders for you even on a stock cam.
And a happy thanksgiving to you as well sir.

That is an option, and is the reason I asked the OP to state what he uses the truck for and where he wants to see gains.
