Hey it takes someone to tell you to search before you learn it works a whole lot better and with a lot less attitude

It seems a lot easier in theory to get a bunch of random people to answer it without you doing anything but now I really think its easier to search yourself and learn as you go lol

Default searching

hey don,

try this search link. looks like there are a lot of good threads that may help you:

https://dodgeforum.com/forum/search....archid=3504759

another way to search is to use google. in the google search box, you can enter:

site:dodgeforum.com <your search keywords>

for example, "site:dodgeforum.com p1740" and that'll return results that have "p1740" from this site.

good luck.

Please don't cop an attitude - it is less than helpful. This is one of the (if not THE) most helpful forums. Did you go to the new member sticky?

Also, if you name your thread something appropriate, it makes it work better in the search function. "can't go" --- really? If you want people to read a thread that may heve experienced the same issue and resolved it, I would advise beginnning with something such as "P1740"

Please check here: https://dodgeforum.com/forum/search....archid=3504767

There were 178 threads in 0.03 seconds.

These guys are more than willing to help anyone, but all they ask is for you to do a few things. Search functions save everyone else time. If no results, then state that. Also, if you go to UserCP and edit your singature to include model of truck, engine size, etc, it helps everyone know what you are working on.

These guys helped me rebuild a tranmission, modify my plenem, and provided excellent advice for other work on my truck. So don't dis them.....not real good pravctive to devlop a working relationship imho.

Any time bud...In all seriousness, as gdstock showed you, there are plenty of threads that pertain to your problem. The BS'ers here at the DF are more then willing to help. But you gotta do your part and actually search for your problems. Type in "1740" in the search menu and see what you find. THEN we'd be more then willing to answer your follow up questions you have. We won't, however, do your homework for you.
Now, regarding you 1740 problem, chances are it's due to a bad or faulty TCC solenoid. A bad or faulty TCC solenoid will manifest itself when the trans either needs to shift from 3rd to O.D. or when it's time for the TC to lock up. That won't cause your trans to feel like its in neutral. Check your trans fluid to see if there's enough in there and it's condition.
If you want more info, I think an apology is in order.

I've joined the dark side... It's official.

This place is hands down the best forum I've encountered for repairing and maintaining a dodge truck, and likely in the top five of helpful forums for any vehicle.. there are 2100 pages of information here, and it is well maintained by the mods and admins..

Asking a question, and demanding an answer (work) from someone when no effort has been given floggin whiffs of entitlement, and demanding something for nothing..

If a person is willing to help themselves, there is a ton of people here that will help them.. people who want something
for nothing get what this dude gets..

2100 pages.. there isn't a whole lot else that can be said here that hasn't already, especially on a truck that's been around as long as these..
