1996 Dodge running lean
So I finally get the engine back in, fuel sync done, run two cans of B&G fuel system cleaner through the fuel rails with the fuel sender disconnected, and I am still getting a lean on bank one. I installed the Hughes engine plenum repair on the bottom of the manifold so I feel pretty good there is not a vacuum leak there. Airtex fuel sender in the tank which is not that old, but I do know that Airtex fuel senders can be junk. Wondering what other brand of fuel sender to use. I suspect it is an issue of not enough volume, although i have pressure. Front O2 sensor going bad? It really sucks that there is no other codes. And has anyone heard of the coils on these trucks going bad and causing rough idle problems? Thanks ,Mike
You are low on fuel psi.
From the 96 fsm:
From the 96 fsm:
All fuel systems are equipped with a fuel tank
module mounted, combination fuel filter/fuel pressure
regulator. The fuel pressure regulator is not controlled
by engine vacuum.
With engine at idle speed, system fuel pressure
should be 339 kPa ・} 34 kPa (49.2 psi ・} 5 psi).

I am sorry, I am not getting any codes from the pcm, I wish I was so I might be able to go in that direction. The scanner just shows the truck is running lean. 96 FSM? Field Sevice Manual? And the truck is not California emission. And sorry for my ignorance but what do you mean by sig and profile? And do I use a cell? Sorry. The engine is a 5.9 if that is what you meant. As far a fuel sender any suggestions as far a brand other than Airtex? Other than dealer? Thanks again guys.

In the upper left black bar you will see "user cp" go there and you can then fill out your info.
You can get the Service manual @ the link below. The Diy area has lots of good info.

Snap on scanner. I do not know the model number. Same one used to set the fuel sync.
Replace the precat o2 (should have done that anyway) and replace the post also for that matter, check the cat (pressure test)and go from there. Get the o2 sensors from Rock Auto (NTK or Denso)and use the 5% code.
