Stalling issues

I have a 1999 1500 with a 5.9 that I have been having stalling issues with since it has turned cold here in Canada. The truck stalls when I put it in reverse when it is cold but does not stall when I shift it into drive. One day it stalled at least 15 times before I could get it backed away from the house and this was after it had been running for at least 10 minutes and it wasn't even that cold out but I could shift it into drive and it would run fine.
I took the truck into my local dealership and all they did was clean the throttle body which has not helped at all. Other threads suggest that it might be the iac valve. Any other suggestions would be great.
