Thumbs up 35s on a two wheel drive

Hi guys, this summer I bougjt a 100% stock dodge ram 1500 v6 2wd 5 speed. I always liked the look of a lifted truck so I started to research. Please no comments like "why would you lift a 2wd" or stuff like that. Im in high school so I didnt have enough money to get the truck I reallt wanted. I bought a two inch front coil spacer and a 3 inch body lift, I just got some new 35s and thought I would show you guys, there is very little rubbing and im pleased with how it turned out.

With coil spacer and body lift

Looks good man!

I've got a 2wd myself and if things all go my way in the upcoming month or by tax season I fully intend on putting in a Detroit Locker. Gonna have REAL 2 wheel drive!

Nothing wrong with lifted 2wd's either. Some other's may not agree to that though.

I like the effort you put into it. Having a truck is better than no truck at all. Additionally, you can actually take a 2wd to some places when you have a good set of technical skills and patience.

Your truck could also be a nice recovery vehicle for those ppl slung into a ditch or what have you. BUT only do this when using a tow strap (big **** yellow thang) AND you have the owner hook it up to their vehicle.

Last thing to do us all a favor, add more info about your truck to your User CP > Edit Signature field. Location is also neato tidbit of information.

 big guy It's your truck, your money, your responsibility. The NNs can shove it.

Some people like to mod their trucks to look and/or perform better. No need to be a dick about it. Truck looks good op! How bad did it hurt the acceleration with the bigger tires? What gears are in it?

Im not sure what gears are in it, but the acceleration wasnt very noticeable its a v6 so it didnt accelerate the best to begin with

good to know this worked out for you cause i was gonna ask about 35s on a 2 inch coil spacer, 3 inch spindle, and 3 inch blocks, but this pretty much answered my question. great looking truck btw.

and you should be able to check the gears by lifting the hood and looking up at the sticker if its there.

Well I don't have 4 wheel drive, just barely have 2 wheel drive with the open diff, although I did manage to have BOTH rear's pullin' when I was doing some playin' a while back. Anyways...

I like to "off road" a bit, and while some people might be surprised what these 2wd trucks are capable of doing with the proper amount of momentum and a skilled driver there are bound to be circumstances where a locked or at least LSD rear would get you through what the open diff's won't.

And I'm sure that a true locked rear end isn't always the best choice for "off roading" either, just easier to accomplish then a 4x4 truck at the moment.

SummitRacing sells the Detroit's for just over $600 plus shipping.

There are other's that are cheaper too.

That looks REALLY good! I was thinking the body lift would look like crap but im very surprised. Great job! Now you just need to get us a few more shots from the sides like your first pic with the 35s.

You might also look into steering components to help keep those big tires driving straight, like steering stabilizer, steering box stabilizer, rock solid bushing, etc.
