Default brake controller problems

i recently bought a brake controller for my 01 dodge 2500. i plugged it in and then plugged in the trailer to see if the brakes would work and big surprise it didn't work. i've read up on what other guys have had to do with theirs to get brake controllers to work and ive tried with no luck. just wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction as to what to try? i have tried to get a reading off of the blue wire on the truck harness and i dont get anything. any help would be appreciated thanks

Check to see if you have a relay in the fuse block under the hood. I had the connection under the dash but had to get a relay for it. You'll see one marked trailer or something similar on the diagram.

checked all of those and everything looks ok. i may buy a new relay to see if maybe that was the problem. im pretty sure that the truck had a brake controller before i bought it maybe something happened and thats why the truck was for sale...... interesting......

i got the controller fixed today. I'm not sure what the deal with my truck wires are, i could not find a wire in the truck harness to tap into. i ended up just tapping right into the controller harness behind the controller unit. but everything is good now. thanks for the help guys
