clearwater heads ?
hey guys , im pretty sure my lifter are bad . no matter what rpm its ticking. cept idle i cant hear it. i was thinking of buying new lifters to install and was thinking to intall new heads along with them since the top end is going to be pulled off. do i want the bigger heads. im concerned with my 1.7 HS. with the bigger heads "1.92 or 2.02" will i need diffrent size pushrods or springs or anything ? http://www.ebay.com/itm/DODGE-DAKOTA...item2558aae2b2
currently i already have the airgap from hughes engines so hopefully with new top end it will have some grunt ! currently has 150 k ? do you think its even worth it ?

420 a PAIR????? WOW!
Trouble is, they are reman stock castings, so, same problems the stock heads have, thin deck castings. Prone to cracking. Bigger valves would probably only make that worse.

You do not need to remove the heads to replace the lifters. Going to a higher flowing head(clearwater heads flow more then OEM) without a cam change you will hurt performance through out the RPM range of the stock cam. Replace your lifters and drive it.
I was thinking since the manifold is coming off it would be easy to take the heads off , I'm sure there cracked . My truck is pinging and I don't have a plenum and tune ups and o2 sensors are replaced
here is the aftermarker version from the same company
