Sounds familiar.. Ive pulled a few Cheby 350's in my time... As for gears im not sure that your gonna find much for cheap.

Try:

Ive got yukon gears in my truck. You could also just get a locker or posi and throw it in the truck with a stock gear which would be cheaper then re-gearing completely.. Try lockright, powertrax, auburn, detroit or eaton. Those are just a few that you could get a locker or limited slip.

if your talking truck tug o war it does nothing to show your trucks power. You can have a higher pull point, thus lifting the other trucks rear end=you win, hold your breaks off the line while they spin the tires then ease in to the throttle=you win...truck tug o war seems cool but is all in all pointless

Maybe you have an issue like me and your water pump is leaking. Mines leaking pretty good and it drips onto the fan and gets shot all over the place.

Most pulling contests require the vehicles to have a drop hitch to adjust for such things so nobody has an advantage in that category. So say his lifted trucks hitch is 6 inches higher than another truck he may be required to have some sort of drop hitch or a bracket so the heights match up even, and the strap or chain is level

yes that is true that most "competition" rules say that but it still proves nothing of your trucks ability, its more so driver "skill" if you will. To prove pulling you have to pull something of equal resistance or weight which ever vehicle can move it or move it the furthest would have the most powered/built vehicle. I think the idea of truck tug o war is cool but it really proves nothing
