2001 Wheel Bearing
Here is the deal:
Alright, I bought a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 v6, and about 2 months later the passenger side wheel bearing goes out. NO PROBLEM!! Replace it, and everything is good!
3 weeks later.....
Two days ago, driving out of time on the highway, and the driver's side decides to go go out. WTH!!!
Alright, I can understand one going bad, but both in that amount of time, and the Ram only has 160K so like I said, WTH!!
I'm not about to drop another $190 for another assembly, so I'm thinking just get an aftermarket one that lowers the Ram, and cost waaaaayyyy less for a new spindle that got chewed up.
Need advice, anyone got anything worth while adding? Like where to get a cheap front spindle or alternatives to keep this from happening????
Thanks in advance!!
Dustin

Welcome to the pleasures of owning a Dodge!
Typically when one wheel bearing goes out, the other side is not far behind it. At least that has been my experience. So ive always replaced both at the same time. Our wheel bearings wear out at a faster rate if you have different offset wheels and tires than what came on the truck from the factory as well.
As for the lowering stuff, sorry but I wont even pretend to know what to tell you. But Im sure someone on here will chime in
