Fuel pump problem?

Would a malfunctioning fuel pump cause battery drain, erratic idle, and now won't stay running without pumping/pressing on the accelerator?
2001 Ram 1500
5.9l V8

Probably not battery drain..... but, the other two, yep. Trouble is, so would a failing alternator.....

^ +1 What he said, and IAC can also contribute/cause erratic idle issue.
