Gas gauge problem?
Hey guys! i got my tanny fixed because of you guys! saved me alot of $$!! so thank you all for the help!!
Now i got another problem... my gas gauge is acting up. i will start the truck with 3/4ths of a tank drive for less than 10miles and have like 1/4th a tank... and i have the 35gal tank! its crazy! some times ill start the truck lgiht will be on (but i know i have plenty of gas in it!) and then slowly the gauge will go up.. and it just jumps around alot...
I think its something in the fuelpump... im hoping i can get the part to just fix it than just buying a whole new fuel pump. maybe its the plunger or a sensor?
You guys let me know what you think it is!

There is a variable resistor in the fuel pump module that varies the signal to the gauge, to tell it how much gas is in the tank. Yours is going south. (and no, it's not migrating, it ain't gonna come back....) Unfortunately, that is not a part that is serviceable separately..... gotta replace the whole thing.
If you are feelin' froggy, you might (note: Might) be able to pull the pump module, clean up the sender for the gauge, bend the tab so it makes better contact, and be good to go. Don't hold your breath though.
