im thinking a remaned converter was 225.00 I'm not sayin that is it dont get me wrong but I would check into it. Mine actually did the same thing yours is doing and then it started down shifting on its own when I would be driving along at 35 it would drop down in to first gear and not shift into second gear until I manually put the truck in neutral then back to drive

1800! I had a guy build my transmission to a level two viper or whatever they call it with all the parts from PATC Transmission. High stall, servo, perf bands, stage 3 fairbanks shift kit, etc plus labor for 2400. With alaskan shop labor rates. actually i only payed 55/hour but still! I also got all 4 driveline u-joints replaced and my shift linkage re done. Did you get the trans built with that or did I get a deal? not to lambase you but thats a lot for a converter lol.

I've heard you can't only replace the converter because when it breaks it puts metal shards in your transmission that eats everything up. He was probably saying 1800 for a complete tranny rebuild, which is average going rate depending on your area

Thats what happend to me the guy pulled the pan and nothing but metal shavings!

1800 was for a massive rebuild new clutches, new converter, bearings,u joints new bands, my receipt is about as long as my arm lol. I know the guy so he did more than what he was suppose to do on the truck but didnt charge me the full amount. 1800 is pretty good deal Ill post my full reciept on here sometime
