Question need help! rear disc rear-end!!!

i have a 94 2500 cummins 5-speed with the dana 80 drum brake rear. i want to convert it to disc. I know that i can buy a conversion kit from egr., etc. However, i dont want to spend $1000 to do so. i have read a blog (somewhere) on the net about a guy who swaped in a 2001.5 - 2002 dana 80 from a dodge 2500. I was at a friends scrape yard yesterday, when a 2002 3500 ram came in with the disc brake rear. i can buy this rear from my friend for around $250. My question is: Is the 2002 2500 & 3500 the same sizes disc-to-disc, with the difference being the offset/inset rims for the 3500? or are they completly different rear ends?

There may be some differences..... but, the 02 3/4 and 1 ton trucks were still pretty much second gen trucks. You are going to want the rear, e-brake cables, proportioning valve, and possibly the master cylinder...... I don't think there is going to be too many other differences.

Welcome to DF.

Same rear ends. 1 tons are a little wider wheel mounting surface to wheel mounting surface on the front to make up for the huge offset/inset in the rims
