Default 99 ram 1500 tilt steering question

Just wondering if anybody else has run into this problem...first off, I have a 1999 Ram 1500 canadian truck which has daytime running lights...with the headlites on low beam, if I tilt the column to any position except for almost at the the top (like a bus steering wheel) the low beams cut out and drop back to daytime running lights. It doesn't do it on high beam. I know wires get stretched, broken, pinched etc in a tilt column over time...I'm just wondering if there is any place inside the column other guys have seen specifically in these trucks, so I have some place to start looking...

Pull the covers off the column, and have a look. The wires like to pull out of the connectors...... then short out... which is no fun at all.

On our 99 2500 the violet/white and light green wires pulled out of the connector that plugs into the multifunction switch (turn signals, high beams, wipers). I had to add a short piece of wire to each and solder them back into the connector. Same symptoms as yours (except our truck didn't have DRL).
