Blew my motor. 318 to 360 question
So i blew my motor a couple days ago and i was wondering if i would be about to drop a 360 in it with the transmission i have in it now. and would i just need the ecu out of a dodge with a 360 and the wiring harness? its a 98 dodge ram 1500 4x4 5.2L automatic. THANKSSSS

All you would need is the PCM. Wiring harness is exactly the same.
I think you would also need the correct flex-plate/torque converter combo. 318 is internally balanced. 360 is externally balanced. In the early years, I think the balance weights were on the t/c, later years, on the flex plate. Not sure exactly where the dividing line is there....... but, that's something ya GOTTA get right the first time.
Supposedly, you should be able to put a late model flex plate on your engine, and be good to go. I think.

year of the engine won't matter. (aside from the flexplate.) Only differences on the newer ones was the manifold was only drilled for one coolant temp sensor, instead of the two yours has. If you get a motor 98 or newer, just transfer your stuff over to that engine. (intake, and all sensors.)
If you haven't done the plenum repair yet, now would be an excellent opportunity.
Edit: Oh, and EGR went away in 96. So, if your donor engine doesn't have it, you will have to use your intake anyway.
