1995 1500 5.2n Idles great but won't run down the road
OK replace the cat, install new crank sensor, again you can run it from idel to 3000 RPM no problems, try to drive and it coughs and spits and tries to die.........I going to try the cam sersor next really needs some help here.
he did say he replaced the pump and blew out the lines in the beginning if it matters.... being that its choking at high rpms it does seem to be possibly starving of fuel.
Could be I missed it, but if I just read over things correctly you've said you replaced the cat but not the oxygen sensor. If that's the case, it's oxygen sensor time. It may or may not clear up your problem, but it needs doing just the same.
Update, this is a 1995 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 with a 5.2 and a automatic tranmissions that will run (all the way up to 3500 RPMs) and idle like a champ. When you put it in any gear and drive the truck starts coughing and spiiting and will not run, here is what I have done to this point;
Replaced fuel pump and cleaned out the tank
Replaced OIA valve/sensor
Replaced plugs, wire coil, cap and rotor and coil pick up
Replaced the up stream O2 sensor
Disconnected the down strem O2 sensor
Replaced Cat
Replace crank sensor
There are no codes
I have tried warming up the truck, I've tried driving it cold, no difference. I'm stumped, to me it seems to be an electrical issue not a fuel issue.
