closed loop misfire
so it's a misfire as in a rough idle? And tapping on the TB makes it go away? What does the rpm's look like when it happens? New IAC? Did you clean the seat of the throttle body when replacing? Could be it's not seating properly until you tap on it.
actual misfire. random cylinders. yes i removed and cleaned the entire TB when i replaced the MAP, TPS, & IAC. (tapping the throttle gas pedal or throttle arm) rpm's flunctuate, typical misfire condition.
u would hafta read the 2 previous pages to better understand whats going on. i've been bustin knuckles for 15yrs professionally and this 1 has me stumped because my MasterTech scan tool shows all the sensor reading within their normal limits. ive done a compression test, cylinder leak down test, fuel pressure test, injector leak down test...... u name it. the only thing i havent done yet is replace the intake gasket or reflashed the ecm with updated programming. i dont have the software for the update. pls read the prior pages.
didnt mention the cleaning part, because i found no issues or oil under it when i replaced the MAP, TPS, & IAC. the stealership had it for the coil & not even they could figure it out. manifold vacuum stays @ 15.4hg from open loop and into closed loop. im wondering if the ecm is the culprit? but how do u test an ecm other than tapping on it w/your fingure?
I'd borrow a coil... They do strange strange things before finally giving up the ghost.. I have a yellow one (accel), and it was the straw that broke the camels back.. I'll never purchase anything accel ever again.. it missed, out of the blue, and worked without flaw- until it missed again.. it would never do it when I was waiting for it, but would when I least expected it to...
Aim4 made a valuable discovery with that.. he runs a msd 6a box, and said it quieted down when he removed it.. then he realized the msd was hitting it 3 times harder than the stock ignition, and therefore it would just kinda amplify the problem..
I'd find a loaned coil, and see if it happens...
