Turbo??!
Was throwing the idea around myself for a while, after an interesting episode of powerblock, where they installed a remote turbo from this company (squires turbo systems - ststurbo.com) on a toyota tacoma. After seeing their price tag though, I decided it'd be much easier/ cheaper to DIY the project. After much research, i found that if you can get ahold of a turbo off of turbo cummins, it can be used, with low boost pressures. There are many turbos available on craigslist and ebay, but definitely would suggest researching a whole lot, before just slapping one on. There were alot of turbo sites/ forums i found, that have indexes of knowledge. Look in the turbo mustang forums, as their set-ups are similar to what we would do. I'm sure there are dodge forum members that'll shoot the idea down, and tell us we are crazy for considering the option. But there's a couple turbo dakotas in this forum, I just cant remember their names.
Anyways, that ststurbo will give u an idea about what you're looking for, or you order their universal kit, and they'd provide you with what you need. If you do order from sts, update this thread, cause I'd like more info about their products/ quality/ ease of install and such, from someone first-hand doing it.

A cummins turbo will work (Holset HX35 or it's older generation, the H1C) on a 5.2 but they are on the small side. For a mild build, something with a 60mm compressor and a T4 turbine would be more appropriate. If you go with a Holset you will want the largest turbine housing for it, 21cm^2, they were found on 1st gens with an auto.
I put down 290hp and 375ft/lbs on 7PSI with a rich tune, I've since turned up the boost another lb and have cleaned up the tune, so it's probably over 300hp and nearly 400ft/lbs at the ground now.
You will need a way to tune it, SCT can do it with large injectors but it's pretty crude. I really prefer a standalone computer, making changes on a my laptop vs waiting for a tune in an email from someone who's never seen my truck, no thanks. The stock auto tranny probably wont like the extra power much.

This is on a 5.9, but it positively can be used. 4-10 PSI. The 4PSI numbers are very nice. And this is on a BONE STOCK setup.
