I have given thought to taking the extra intake I have, put shorter bolts and the original pan back on, and seal off TB opening and putting pressure on it to see if it would hold. Just have too much to do and haven't gotten to it.

The only thing I do not understand, the intake has vacuum, and not pressure. My gasket was pushed to the outside in a couple of places (3 I think). If the intake has vacuum, the the crankcase appears to have significantly more vacuum to pull gasket out from intake manifold....

That sounds like the bolts were overtorqued and squished the gasket out.

Me too...of course I think mine must have had the gasket and bolts changed before I bought it?... 150k and stock plates working fine.

Mine had 134,000 on it when i got it, and plenum was blown. Went ahead and picked up another intake to mod while I was working on tranny and just swapped them out. Don't know if it had ever been done before.

Mine's at 109k and holding up well. But being the nervous sort that I am I might just gather up the parts and do the fix before the gasket fails.

Mine was the same way, gasket towards the heads rather than inside the plenum. Multiple spots also.

When ppl say plenum is blown they mean the gasket right? Seems like a dumb question but just want to make sure their plates aren't damaged too?

My gasket was also blown outwards in multiple places when I bought my truck.
