Hi guys, trying to tighten up my steering a bit, there is a really good DIY on here, thanks, followed instructions, but for the life of me i cant get a hex wrench on the top of the lock nut. i can loosen the nut no problem, but the fan cover i think is just too close to get a hex on from below,infront or in the engine bay angles at it.... any tips guys?? anyone else have the same problem?

I did not have any difficulty getting a wrench on mine, so it must be set up a little differently on a 4x4>

 

There was plenty of clearance on mine........ If you have to, take the washer bottle off, unbolt the fan shroud on that side, and just lift it out of the way a bit, and secure it there.

 

When we did it the radiator shroud was off (doing the plenum job) so it was easier to get to.

 

Are you using an L shaped hex? Thats what I had to use to tighten mine up
