Default AirGap & IAT Mounting

hey guys i had a question. this is for the airgap guys. i just installed mine couple days ago, and well you know how it says to move the IAT sensor upstream from the throttle body. well i did that no problem, i drilled a hole in my plastic housing for my CAI. but my question is, if i wanted to use a round air cleaner, where would you mount it then?

would you just drill a hole in the baseplate and mount in in the bottom of it?

Really a $600 intake and no IAC port. I think I would drill and tap a hole under the tb in that adapter housing.

well you could... but they recommend you mount it upstream from the throttle body.

I was going to say the same thing. However, he has an SCT that can be tuned/adjusted for the location of the IAT.

I put mine in the intake under the adapter.I had it in a K&N tube but I switched to a 14x3 and put it in the intake. It runs the same as far as I can tell. But it is on my R/T 5.9.

Is not moving the iat up stream into the colder air tricking the pcm into adding more fuel and timing? If the sct can program the pcm for any iat location then it would not matter were it got put as long as it's in the air stream.

all i know is i put it upstream from the throttle body and the truck has so much more power now with these mods. the truck doesnt even have to try anymore... at a dead stop i hammered it to the floor and i spun the tires for a couple feet and then they grabbed, and its always cool to see the front come up a little and the *** sit down some.
