Unhappy 2000 Ram 1500 Wiring stereo issues (URGENT)

My friend has a 1500 ram, he wired a new head unit, amp and door panel speakers and now the truck won't start! It doesn't even try. The lights come on in the cab though, but radio won't work and truck won't start! He is stranded with no way to get home! Please help quickly!

Did he short anything? Leave the key on? Interior light on? Need a little more info.

It could be as simple that if he did any of the previous the battery could just be dead.

Was the battery disconnected? Reconnected?

Any lights at all working? Other than the ones mentioned.

he stupidly had the battery connected during the install. If lights come on then the battery isn't dead. we have checked fusses. un-plugged (for about an hour) and re-plugged back in the battery.

Because it doesn't click doesn't mean there is no power. Need to check with a volt meter or test light.

Probably neutral safety switch is going bad or it wasn't fully in park then (operater error).

he put it in park a few times. just for some reason you have to have it in neutral to start it. May have screwed it up with they took part of the dash off. who knows! aslong as its working.

If there was wires run from the battery to the inside of cab, it's possible that the neutral safety switch got bumped and loosened the harness. I'd start there to find out why it won't start in park.
