I'll bet there was a poor connection at the terminals, so when the new ones were installed everything was nice and tight.

Lesson learned: Whatever doesn't work after a job is somehow related to what you did. There would be no rhyme or reason why the starter or battery went bad *unless* you crossed a connection which would thereby fry that particular piece of equipment. This is not a criticism of you. Just file it away as accumulated wisdom. Trust me -- I have quite a few of those filed away as I'm certain many of the other people here

Yeah, you guys were right, I would have bet anything it was the starter.

Just weird the terminals were fine before the repairs and bad after.
