I dont need to say anything else then, Might not be it, but who knows now. Did you have the negative battery cable disconnected at least.

yeah batt was taken out of the truck when we did the trans gunna check it out 2day

Make sure there are no wires pinched between BH and block also.

ok so no pinched wires and swapped crank sensor but still stalling when we put it in reverse totally lost at this point

Does it also stall when you put it in any other gear? Could be the IAC is not able to move quick enough to stabilize idle when you put a load on it.

how long was it broke down, I had a jeep zj one time when the tranny went bad, the truck sat for about a year till i had the money and time to rebuild the tranny, got it back together truck ran like crap, i replaced all sorts of parts trying to figure it out, ended up being bad gas. also possibly tv cable needs adjusted

How good is that known good transmission? Maybe one of the transmission experts will chime in, as I could very well be wrong, but it sounds a lot like a worn valve body is putting pressure where none belongs when in Reverse.

i took the trans out of my 99 sport that ran perfect never an issue

Are you checking the fluid in neutral? And did you hook
Up the cooler lines right? Maybe something to check
