P1740 mil

That's what I figured. They did a small test on the truck, Plugged in the scanner and "verified" the p1740 is the code showing up. They then cleared it....
This is a quote from the paper;
What a rip off, they charged me $100.00 to do this crap lol.
I have one question left. Which is the best parts I can replace this with? And were can I order them from? I use this truck for everything but towing/plowing. Going to head off and look online for these parts.
Thanks.

You might feel a harsher 3-4 shift when the spring breaks, about half the valve bodies i rebuild have a broken spring in them. they could in time cause the piston to fracture/crack due to the broken/sharp edges of the spring coming in contact with the piston and then a loss of O/D pressure would occur.
The spring in this kit is stiffer and will give you a firmer 3-4 shift.

Here's a great kit, Its has the borgwarner H/D solenoid-Its complete and has everything you will need. "Note" this is not a gov solenoid failure but normally a OD/LU solenoid failure. but this is a good time to upgrade all sensors. I've used this kit several times. to replace the OD/LU solenoid the valvebody will have to be removed, but if you have some mechanical ability i would be happy to walk you through it step by step. But the first thing to do is check you fluid conditon and when you drop your pan see if you have any excess debre. this could indicate other problems. If these are ok I would proceed.

keep in mind failure in these TCC-OD solenoids are rare... usually that code means something else is going bad like the torque converter or OD unit... I would drop the pan and see wharts at the bottom as far and metal dust or little chunks and make sure its all magnetic... I would also remove and clean the two solenoids..I believe you can bench teast them or just replace them Like I did before finding the tranny needed to be rebuilt anyway.. just tell the shop they are new and it may save you a couple bucks at rebuild time if its needed.
