Default Paint

Don't know if this is the right place, but I have '95 Ram and on the top of the truck and some places on the hood, the paint is peeling pretty bad. Anyone know of anything I can put on it to stop it from peeling?

I thought about having it repainted, but I don't know about the price that would be. Here's a pic of the truck, if you think it would help you give me a better estimate on how much to get it repained (I would want it solid red).

There really isnt anything that I know of that will stop the paint from peeling once it does. However, alot of paint shops run deals from $299-699 for a complete paint job. These are your average day paint jobs. Depending on what state/country you live in, the type of car, and the color of paint/paints you want....those prices could change. I know Maaco runs a cheapo paint price usually during the summer for like $299-399. AGAIN, these may not be the same where you live. Since you want it plain jane red, it shouldnt be super expensive. Adding a clear coat on the paint job could get expensive, but its more then worth the price.

Red is THE most expensive tint and color to use..... the problem is called Delamination. IF you were original owner, you coudl hanmmer Dodge to take care of it... but... yeah, you COULD get a cheapy paint job, but it wont fix that.. you need ot strip it down to bare metal and remove the primer that didnt bond to the E-coat from the factory....yeah I see this a few times a week from various manufacturers
