Question 94 Ram, bunch of issues

We got a really good deal on a 94 Dodge Ram 5.2L auto. It's my wife's first vehicle and I got it for her for Christmas. We knew it had some issues when we got it and were looking for a fixer upper. But any info anyone can give me about the following issues will be greatly appreciated! I'll keep this thread updated to let everyone know what I have tried.

--Headlight low beams don't work. High beams work, switch still turns on the interior light, and bed light but the low beams won't come on.

--Fuel and engine temp gauges don't work. Every other gauge on the dash works but these two. No check engine light on. The gas light is also on constantly.

--Windshield wipers don't work. You can hear the wiper motor humming, but the wiper arms don't move.

--The ignition switch can start the truck without the key in it. Don't like this at all.

I think that's it for now, and that's probably enough for now. If anyone can get me pointed in the right direction with any of these issues please let me know.

1. Headlight issue. Since your switch still controls all of the functions that it should you need to pull the cover off the steering column. You will find wires from the multi-function stalk broken or worn and shorting. Common problem not enough slack and if you used the tilt feature all the time it would pull the wires. Can also pull them out of the switch. If you don't find the problem there pull the headlight switch and look at the wires and connector.

3. Wipers - Sounds like the motor is shot. Remove and replace.

4. New ignition switch is the only fix.
2. Couple of things fuel pump unit for the fuel gauge and for temp assuming the coolant is full. Coolant temp sensor.

I'm not sure if you can replace individual components on the fuel pump as I have always just replaced the pump.

Update.

The wipers are working now. We took the cover off between the windshield and the hood and tapped on the motor. Guess it was just stuck the wipers are working now. I turned the key on and off 3 times and pulled no codes besides the battery had been unplugged. If the coolant temp sensor was bad, wouldn't it throw a code? I'm leaning more toward the gauge cluster could be bad? Headlights are still not working checked the bulbs and they are fine. The switch on the dash all functions work and the stick on the steering wheel, all functions work. Just the low beam lights don't come on. High beam lights work fine.

if the temp sensor is bad it may or may not throw a code. i would start with the sensor. im not too sure about the high/low beam problem. did you get the fuel gauge to work?

You have two temp sensors on your truck. The computer doesn't care about the one for the gauge, it doesn't have a clue what that one is doing. It's the single wire sensor on the passenger side of the thermostat housing. Wiggle the connector, see if it starts working.
