Default Lift Kit question

Alright so while I've been working on swapping motors on my dodge, I've been thinking of what to do once it runs again.. It currently has a 4 inch suspension lift on it with 33" tires, what do you think of doing a 3 inch body lift on top of that? how safe would it be and how bad would the 33" tires look until i buy new tires (they're almost brand new and pretty nice tires) and what size tires would be apprioprate?

um, in my opinion it would look funny without having at least 35's or bigger. As for safety it would be fine. I would personally wait until you tires are looking like they might need replacing. Spend the money on something else. Or maybe look at craigslist see if someone wants to trade a set of 35's for some 33's (you wouldn't believe how many people want to do this, usually find some real good tires, like people bought 35's and then they wouldn't fit on there truck or jeep)

talking to me or watsupdud? I have a rough country 3" lift kit for a 2500 with a v10, stiffer springs gave me closer to a 5" lift, think I paid like 500 bucks for it, it was several years ago. The rear I have 2" blocks, and helper springs.

That is a good start on a lift. Depends on your plans really. If you think you will want larger, then wait and do it 1x. Besides...if you are running 3.55 gears in the diffs...you'll really start straining the drivetrain.

4" SL and 3" BL with 33" is just fine functionally and cosmetically. I always say to keep the sway bar on. You can fit 35" with that setup just fine too. Only thing would be proper backspacing on the wheels to avoid rub.

I believe its a rancho lift which would run about $900 if your asking me... It was on the truck when I bought it. Yeah, I might try trading for 35's on craigslist, pretty good idea.. I like the looks of your truck with the 7 inch lift and 35's..

97tn4x4 & Wn can you guys measure from the ground to the top of the inside of wheel well on the front of the truck. I am curious about your trucks hieght.

As for the lift the best advice I can pass on is do it once and do it right.
