2001 RAM 2500 Shifts to N when Hitting Bump
I have a 2001 RAM 2500 4X4 which is shifting into neutral when In hit a bump. I have removed the steering column shroud and the shift detends do not look excessivly worn. The gear shift lever (on the steering column) is loose: There is some movement which indicates that the pivit pin or the lever, itself, has worn.
I am going to adjust the shift linkage, per the FSM.
Any ideas on the cause or how to fix the shifting issues?
How would I remove the gear shift lever pin?
Thank you.

Welcome to DF!
My Blazer I had at one point would do that as well. The problem on the Blazer though, was the body mounts had rusted out, so, when ya hit a bump, the hole body would bounce, and pull the trans out of gear.
Have a look at the entire linkage, see what's sloppy, if anything, and take a good look at all your mounts under there as well. (body mounts, and engine/trans mounts.) See if there is anything obvious.

I sorta had the same thing happen to my truck '01 Ram Sport 1/2 ton 4X4 BUT it would pop out of gear when i hit the gas harder than normal. I found it was the bushing in the torque shaft transmission bracket. The little plastic bushing popped out so shift rod has a lot of play.
So popped it back in making sure the tabs snapped in correctly and BAMMMM she works perfect now.
